Roland has unveiled the Aerophone Brisa, the newest addition to its growing family of digital wind instruments. With a design inspired by the traditional flute, Brisa offers players a familiar key layout while introducing advanced digital features, a new SuperNATURAL Winds sound engine, and a streamlined playing experience for flutists, other wind musicians, and complete beginners.
First introduced in 2016, Roland’s Aerophone series has redefined what’s possible for wind players, from the flagship Aerophone Pro to the accessible Aerophone mini. Brisa builds on that legacy with a stylish, lightweight straight-body design, flute-style keys, and intuitive controls that deliver comfort without sacrificing expressive range.
At the heart of Aerophone Brisa is Roland’s SuperNATURAL Winds engine, crafted to capture the subtle articulations and dynamics of acoustic instruments. The Brisa ships with 100 onboard tones, spanning flutes of every variety — concert, bass, piccolo, and jazz—alongside saxophones, clarinets, trumpets, orchestral strings, world instruments like pan flute and shakuhachi, plus synths and drums for modern music performance.
Roland introduces a dual breath sensor system with Brisa, giving players more natural wind control. For flutists, a new octave-shifting method responds to breath direction between two mouthpiece holes, opening fresh expressive possibilities. Multiple fingering modes are included—flute, trumpet, and a special Brisa mode—ensuring easy adoption for saxophonists, recorder players, and newcomers alike.
Beyond its acoustic emulation, Brisa’s digital platform lets musicians expand their sonic world with harmonies, drones, and real-time controls. Motion sensors add vibrato and pitch effects through natural body movement, while customizable buttons provide instant access to performance tweaks. With a built-in speaker, rechargeable battery, headphone jack, and USB-C/Bluetooth MIDI connectivity, Brisa works equally well for practice, live performance, and studio recording.
Launching in Q4 2025, the free Aerophone Brisa Plus app expands the instrument’s capabilities, offering sound editing, preset management, and visual fingering guides. The app also connects directly to Roland Cloud, giving players access to even more sounds beyond the built-in library.
With its blend of traditional familiarity and futuristic innovation, Aerophone Brisa represents Roland’s most flutist-friendly Aerophone yet—an instrument designed to inspire creativity across genres and skill levels.
