PRS Guitars has officially announced the return of the Mira, now reborn in the Maryland factory line with the coveted 24.594” scale length. This new iteration will be a regular fixture in the S2 Series, offered in both gloss and satin finishes.
The 22-fret S2 Mira 594 is designed to cover wide sonic territory, from rock and blues to garage and punk. Its all-Mahogany construction paired with PRS 58/15 LT vintage-voiced pickups delivers a warm, mid-focused character. Two mini-toggle switches allow players to individually tap the humbuckers, unlocking both thick humbucking tones and shimmering single-coil sounds.
“The Mira has had an interesting history over the course of the last 17 years, but I don’t think it found its true voice until now,” said PRS Guitars Director of Sales, Jim Cullen. “The S2 Mira 594 combines our 24.594” scale length with a Pattern Thin neck shape and a very simple and straightforward feature set that provides an incredibly lively, simple-to-use tool to create music.”
Since its debut in 2007 as an all-Mahogany, 24-fret, 25” scale guitar with moon inlays and a stoptail bridge, the Mira has evolved across PRS’s Core, S2, and SE Series. After moving to the S2 line in 2013 and later appearing in the SE Series from 2020 to 2023, the Mira now returns to the S2 range with its most refined form yet.
The S2 Mira 594 Gloss will be offered in Antique White, Black, Dark Cherry Sunburst, Platinum Metallic, Vintage Cherry, and a debut finish: Black Rainbow Holoflake. The S2 Mira 594 Satin, sporting PRS’s “sinky” satin nitro finish, will be available in Matcha Green, Mavis Mint Metallic, Metallic Midnight, Dark Cherry Sunburst, Red Apple Metallic, and the debut finish Cloud Burst.
