PRS began teasing what everyone assumed was an SE version of the John signature Silver Sky guitar in December 2020. Mayer and PRS posted a joint teaser on Instagram with the PRS SE logo and a “save the date” for January 11, with nothing more available. Now PRS has confirmed the SE Silver Sky alongside confirmation of a bunch of details.
According to PRS, the SE Silver Sky will feature a Poplar body, bolt-on Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard and 22 frets, and a synthetic bone nut. The SE Silver Sky will also offer a 2-point steel tremolo and three 635JM “S” pickups. The SE Silver Sky will be available in Moon White, Dragon Fruit, Ever Green, and Stone Blue finishes.
