PRS Guitars kicked off 2026 with a wave of announcements that span nearly every corner of its catalog, from Core and S2 models to amps, SE Series updates, and fresh finishes.
And before we get into it, I’ll just leave this here – you can shop the entire new line of PRS (and old stuff) right here.
Headlining the news is the DGT Semi-Hollow officially joining the Core Series, alongside a new S2 Vela HHT, a combo version of the Archon Classic 50, and a set of thoughtful specification refinements across the SE lineup.
After multiple successful limited runs, the DGT Semi-Hollow is now a permanent Core Series model. Developed through more than two decades of collaboration between PRS Guitars and David Grissom, the guitar is based on one of Grissom’s own Private Stock instruments.
It retains all the familiar DGT hallmarks — a 25″ scale length, 22 frets, jumbo frets, the DGT neck shape, and carefully selected woods — while adding the airy resonance and responsiveness of a semi-hollow body. Outfitted with custom-voiced DGT pickups, dual volume controls, and a push/pull tone control, the guitar leans into a vintage-inspired voice with added dynamic nuance.
“For me, the DGT Semi-Hollow has been a super versatile companion to my solidbody DGTs. The semi-hollow design has a bit warmer top end, a little less bottom than the solid body, and I can get more controlled feedback,” said David Grissom.
The S2 Vela HHT gives PRS’s offset staple a more aggressive personality. This new version introduces dual DS-01 humbuckers and a tremolo bridge, expanding both tonal range and expressive potential.
The humbuckers deliver everything from the Vela’s signature sparkling cleans to a thicker, beefier low end, with exposed pole pieces contributing to a sharper attack. A push/pull tone control allows players to tap the humbuckers, opening up an even wider range of sounds.
Originally launched as a head in April 2025, the Archon Classic 50 now arrives in a more portable combo format for 2026. This two-channel, grab-and-go amp retains the voice, power, and reliability of the Archon Classic 50 head, now paired with a 12″ Celestion V-Type speaker.
The control layout includes a 3-band EQ, individual channel volume and master volume controls, a bright switch, and global presence and depth knobs. With ample headroom and a built-in effects loop, the combo is clearly aimed at pedal-friendly rigs and working players.
PRS has also refined its SE Series for 2026 with updates that are as functional as they are visual. Many SE models will now feature PRS’s proprietary Wing Buttons, a design dating back to 1982 that echoes the wingspan of the iconic 12th-fret birds. Beyond aesthetics, the lighter buttons reduce mass at the headstock, helping strings vibrate more freely for improved sustain and musical resonance.
Additionally, all applicable SE models now include sloped pickup rings, giving the pickups a tighter, more polished fit and further elevating the overall look of the SE Series.
Rounding out the announcements are several new finishes. The Silver Sky Maryland model gains two new satin options — Black Plum and Mojave Brown — while the SE Zach Myers is now available in Elderberry Burst. PRS has also expanded color availability across multiple series, with updated product pages showcasing the full range of options.
With new Core additions, expanded S2 offerings, a more portable Archon, and meaningful SE refinements, PRS’s 2026 lineup shows the brand continuing to evolve while staying firmly rooted in its design philosophy and heritage.
