POSITIVE GRID BIAS Head Now Features Reverb

Positive Grid’s BIAS Head/Rack/Amp (which I recently did a full review of) is an amp modeler that until yesterday was exclusively about modeling the amplifier and the cab – there were no effects whatsoever involved.

But now Positive Grid has announced the inclusion of reverb effects in the newest (free!) firmware update to the Head/Rack/Amp line.

Pretty cool addition that will make the amp that much more useful in a live setting – that’s one less pedal you need on your board. Plus, reverb is the main effect you find built-in to many amps of any vintage, so it makes sense that they would include it with an amp modeler.

Here’s the full info from the press release:

San Diego, CA – November 13, 2017 – Positive Grid (www.positivegrid.com), makers of the best-selling BIAS Amp and BIAS FX component-level guitar processors, today announced a free update that adds reverb functionality to their BIAS line of professional amplifiers. Known both for ground-breaking technological innovation and an organic and authentic feel, these products allow the user to experiment with different types of components in the virtual amp circuit – swapping tubes, transformers, tone stacks and more to create a custom amplifier designed specifically for the individual needs of each guitarist.

“The reaction to our BIAS Amp, Head and Rack products has been phenomenal”, said Robert McCullar, Vice-President of Sales. “When guitarists plug into our amps for the first time, they’re almost always surprised at how organic and authentic they feel – it’s like a whole new world of possibilities has opened up for them”. Robert continues, “at Positive Grid we truly listen to our customers, and we make every attempt to improve our products based upon their comments and feedback. Reverb functionality has been one of our top-requested features worldwide, and we’re proud to deliver it for our customers with this free update.”

The update for BIAS Amp, BIAS Head and BIAS Rack includes nine different reverb types, covering a wide range of reverb colors and sounds. More than just a simple two-knob design, the user has control over not just Reverb Type, Decay Time and Mix, but also Damping (which simulates the sonic affect of absorptive material, softening the high-frequency response), both a Lo and Hi Cut filter, and Dwell (which operates as a saturation control).

The update for BIAS Amp, Head and Rack is free, and available now. Learn more at https://www.positivegrid.com/bias-head and https://www.positivegrid.com/bias-amp.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
