If you’ve ever wanted the tone of the legendary Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe from 1955 but didn’t feel like paying a boatload of money, you’re in luck! Origin Effects is duplicating that sound with their new DELUXE55 and it’s also way smaller than an amplifier. So that’s a nice little bonus.
The DELUXE55 offers up a push-pull output stage that overdrives in the same way the Fender 5E3 Tweed Deluxe would, and even includes a reactive load to simulate the interaction between the amp’s power amp and speaker. Origin Effects even got down to the nitty gritty of duplicating the cathodyne phase inverter, unconventional preamp design, and Tone control that manages to up the overdrive.
The DELUXE55‘s Amp Recreation circuitry features a Preamp switch to mimick the effect of swapping a 12AY7 preamp valve for a 12AX7, ultimately giving you a wide range of crunchy options. The DELUXE55 is equipped with a Post EQ circuit as well to ensure compatibility with traditional amps, modellers, power amps and cabinet simulators.
