Orange Amplification has teamed up with Quinton Lucion to show off just how insanely heavy their new OR60 really is. The OR60 is a 60-watt, UK-built all-valve amp head designed to be simple, yet with maximum punch.
At its core, the OR60 runs a pair of 6L6 power valves, giving it a distinctly open, punchy character with serious headroom. The result is an amp that stays articulate under pressure, especially when pushed with boost pedals or driven hard in a band mix.
The OR60’s strength lies in how much ground it covers without ever switching channels. A footswitchable second volume control allows instant level changes for solos or dynamic shifts, all without altering your gain structure.
A Bright switch adds extra top-end presence when needed, especially useful for humbuckers or darker guitars, while disengaging it smooths the response for warmer, rounder tones.
Where the OR60 really starts to separate itself is in its power section control. Presence and Resonance knobs give you direct access to the high and low-frequency behavior of the amp’s output stage. Presence shapes the upper harmonics and attack, while Resonance adjusts low-end depth and punch.
A switchable 60W/30W power mode adds another layer of flexibility, letting players push the output stage harder at lower volumes. Combined with a negative feedback loop that keeps aggressive tones in check, the OR60 maintains clarity even when pushed into high-gain territory.
