PRS Rolls Out Faded Black Tee Satin And Venetian Blue Finishes For The Silver Sky

At this point PRS could probably exist solely off Silver Sky sales. Or at least you’d think that, given the guitar’s immense popularity and the fact that they keep introducing new versions of it.

PRS has just introduced Faded Black Tee Satin and Venetian Blue finishes for the Silver Sky (not the SE version, yet), available right now in both the Rosewood and Maple versions. Get ’em here for $2,799.

If you somehow missed out on the Silver Sky, here’s a quick synopsis – it’s a collaboration between John Mayer and PRS that birthed what the duo called an “idealized version of a vintage single-coil guitar.”

The Silver Sky includes traditional vintage-style and closed-back tuners, a steel tremolo that takes the patented PRS design and incorporates Gen III knife-edge screws, and 635JM single-coil pickups. The Silver Sky comes with the option of a Rosewood or Maple fretboard. The Maple fretboard option comes with the original 635JM neck shape, while the Rosewood fretboard option has been subtly modified in the shoulders to feel more “rounded” in your hand.

Other high-quality specifications include a bone nut, a molded metal jack plate (curved to make plugging and unplugging a guitar cable hassle-free), retooled knobs, and PRS’s double action truss rod (accessible from the front of the headstock for ease of use). PRS premium gig bag included.
