If you’re trying to be both the bassist and the guitarist in your band, then the new Ibanez BTB Bass Workshop Multi-Scale 7-string might be for you.
The BTB7MS offers an ultra-stable 9-piece Maple/Panga Panga/Walnut through neck and Ash/Okoume body wings alongside a highly figured Bubinga. Then there’s the ergonomic multi-scale Rosewood fretboard with 24 stainless steel frets (plus a zero fret) and Abalone dot inlays, plus a MR5S bridge. The neck is a 33.5″-35″ scale with 15.5mm spacing. The BTB7MS comes loaded with two T1 dual-coil pickups and 3-band EQ, as well as an EQ bypass switch and a 3-way Mid frequency switch.
“This one is tailor-made for bassists who demand more range. The BTB7MS is the first multi-scale 7-string bass in the Ibanez bass lineup,” said Ibanez of the bass. “It features a 35-33.5 multi-scale design. It’s also equipped with our proprietary T1 pickups and monorail bridge.”
On the BTB Series itself, Ibanez offered: “Without a doubt, your instrument should reflect the dedication you place in your musicianship and creative endeavors. At a certain point, the word ’boutique’ comes to mind: Select-grade materials, neck-thru construction, and top quality components, all in a meticulously combined into a stunning pro-level instrument.
“But what about the upfront investment of such an instrument? That’s where Ibanez comes in. Our ability to build small-shop quality, into inspiring yet affordable instruments, is showcased in droves with BTB series basses.”
