Darkglass has just introduced the 112 and 210 versions of the Infinity and Microtube preamps, all nicely packed away in a new combo series. Both the 112 and 210 combos offer 10″ and 12″ iterations which employ Custom Design Eminence Speakers in a Balsa cabinet. Then things get a little different, depending on which one you buy.
The Infinity Combo Series offers a user-friendly interface and cloud-storable presets for seamless transitions between different sounds on the go. It offers a preset button to change through presets 1 to 5 and a bypass signal, a Compression knob that allows you to select between compressor OFF/Pre/Post drive position, a Preset Vol to control preset volumes as well as toggling between the 7 IR slots/IR bypass for Post DI & Headphone OUT, and a full Graphic EQ.
On the back, the Infinity Combo Series offers a MIDI In and a USB-C port for USB audio interface capabilities, unlike its Microtubes 500 counterpart. The Infinity Combo Series (DG112D and DG210D) is available here for $1,329.99 and $1,479.99, respectively.
Then there’s the Microtubes Combo Series, which is way more analog in its operation. The Microtubes Combo Series offers a simpler Compression knob, a Blend knob to mix your clean and distorted signal, and a Passive/Active switch to change from passive to active mode. The Microtubes Combo Series forgoes the full Graphic EQ for the usual 4-band EQ knobs, as well as employs a Drive knob.
The Microtubes Combo Series (DG112A and DG210A) is available here for $1,099.99 and $1,229.99, respectively.
