After years of waiting, MXR has finally announced August 20 as the release daye for their Randy Rhoads signature MXR Distortion+ pedal!
The Randy Rhoads signature MXR Distortion+ pedal was created by MXR after they meticulously dissected Rhoads’ fabled “chip pan” pedalboard back in 2022, marking the first time in 40 years anyone had seen what was under the hood. The pedal was originally slated for 2023, but was delayed.
Now Rhoads’ sister Kathy Rhoads D’Argenzio has revealed August 20 as the release date, saying in an Instagram post: “Great news Everyone! The Randy Rhoads MXR distortion + Pedal will OFFICIALLY be available on August 20th!
“I am so excited about this project from Dunlop! It was a ‘hands on’ project for me as I was able to personally help design. It’s been a long journey and a labor of love. I can’t wait to hear everyone’s reaction. I think you will all be AMAZED. Some surprises as well!
