MXR Goes To Space With New Joshua Ambient Echo

MXR is kicking off their 2024 with a love letter to the spacier sounds from the psych-trips of the ’60s and ’70s, to the ethereal ambience from the ’80s.

The MXR Joshua Ambient Echo is its customizable delay that offers control over not only the tempo and number of repeats, but also their rhythm. Better yet, the Joshua also allows you to keep your repeats trailing off even after the pedal disengaged thanks to the Trails function, while the Echo 2 switch adds a secondary set of repeats set to 1/4 note tempo.

It’s worth noting that the MXR Joshua Ambient Echo also supports both onboard tap tempo through the footswitch and off-board switching through the CTR jack – the latter of which also allows you to freeze your delay lines at max feedback.

The MXR Joshua Ambient Echo also offers a Mod control to add some modulation to your delay, while the Voice control conjures an organ-like aura through a custom mix of -1 sub octave, +1 octave up, and +2 octave up signals. Along with stereo and expression pedal capability, you can adjust up to 12 different parameters—from how the LEDs flash to the mix of the secondary echo signal.

Pre-orders are available here for $239.99.
