Kiesel is back with their latest and very highly-customizeable model, the Kyber.
The Kyber features Kiesel’s most extreme arm contour and a uniquely shaped body that enhances classical position support while still excelling in standard position. That coupled with a minimalist yet aggressive headstock and lower horn cut-away design gives the Kyber a pretty unique look, but one that’s rooted in top-tier playability.
“One of the most unique features of this new model is its body thickness — or more accurately, the lack of it,” said Jeff Kiesel. “The idea behind this design was to give players a truly lightweight guitar without resorting to traditional methods like chambering or using ultra-light tonewoods.
“Instead, Kiesel achieved this by reimagining the overall body profile. You still get a full Alder body, which is a staple tonewood known for its balanced sound, paired with a Maple neck and a headstock — and yet the entire instrument comes in right around six pounds or less. It’s a clever way to preserve tonal integrity while making the guitar far more comfortable to play for long stretches.”
The Kyber also features a simplified control layout with a 3-way toggle switch and single volume knob for intuitive operation during performance, as well as hidden strap buttons mounted on rear for excellent balance while giving a clean, ultra-modern look to the front.
The Kyber is available in both 6 and 7 string configurations to suit your playing style and offers pretty major options like fixed bridges, tremolos, or multiscale configurations.
