Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Zacky Vengeance has teamed up with KHDK for a brand new, brain-eating pedal called Night Of The Living Shred. The pedal features gain and fuzz sides that can either be independent from one another or blended together, and zombie-themed artwork by the great Mario Lopez. So that means you can get everything from a little boost to some Life Is But A Dream-styled shred.
As for how the pedal came to be, KHDK said it was all inspired by a Misfits pedal they did a while ago.
“Some time ago, we built a pedal for Misfits under their own brand,” wrote KHDK’s David Karon. “The Static Age (now long sold out) was a huge hit and Zacky snagged one of the pieces. He loved it so much, he asked us to build him his own pedal…and the rest, as they say, is just the sound of brain slushies. Zacky wanted us to encapsulate his signature tone with a heavy distortion and added fuzz for extra grit. Essentially, it should be an homage to his love of metal and punk rock.”
