Jackson and Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian have teamed up once again, this time for a Gloss Black version of Ian’s signature KVXT model.
The X Series Signature Scott Ian King V KVXT features a three-ply Black pickguard with Gold hardware, Gold speed knobs, single volume and tone controls and a black three-way toggle switch.
Even cooler, the model also features an old school Jackson logo on the headstock. Other than the new colorway, the model remains largely the same with its Jackson high-output humbucking pickups and 12″ to 16″ compound radius bound Rosewood fingerboard.
“I just wanted something that really evoked precision,” said Ian. “I just wanted it to look tight and look great. The black and gold combination—I just hadn’t seen one or anything like this in a long time. That’s always the hardest thing, coming up with something new.
“The colorway works amazing, and of course the old-school Jackson logo—pretty much that’s the pièce de résistance. I love it. I love the way it came out, and it plays even better than it looks.”
“I can’t take all the credit. I think it was actually Mike Tempesta who sent the initial idea like, ‘What do you think of something like this?’ And I was like, ‘That looks killer. I will play that guitar.'”
Get it here for $799.99 alongside the previously-released Candy Apple Red version, and the extremely Green Baldini model.
