Ibanez is now streaming a pretty shreddy demo of their AZ24S1F model, featuring the playing of Cheng Tian.
The Ibanez AZ24S1F is a guitar designed for players who demand flexibility, precision, and stage-ready reliability. With a blend of premium materials, modern features, and the advanced dyna-MIX10 switching system, this AZ model offers ten distinct tonal options without compromising on comfort or clarity.
At the core of the Ibanez AZ24S1F is a Flamed Maple top over an Alder body, a combination that delivers a bright, punchy tone with rich sustain and a visually stunning finish. The Roasted Maple neck enhances durability and stability, especially under changing climate conditions, while the Jatoba fretboard adds midrange warmth and snappy highs — perfect for both complex rhythm work and expressive lead playing.
This guitar is built for speed and feel. The Super All Access Neck Joint allows unhindered reach across all 24 jumbo stainless steel frets, while the 305mm radius and 25.5-inch scale offer a familiar feel for modern players. Locking tuners keep the tuning rock solid, even under heavy use of the T106 tremolo bridge, which allows for fine-tuned intonation and smooth action.
Powering the Ibanez AZ24S1F are Ibanez Modern Custom humbuckers, voiced with Alnico V magnets for quick attack and a wide dynamic range. These pickups excel under gain, yet maintain enough clarity and headroom for clean or edge-of-breakup tones. The real tonal magic happens with the dyna-MIX10 switching system and Alter Switch, which open up five traditional positions and five additional single-coil-style voices via coil tapping and Power Tap mode.
