IBANEZ Announces New AZ and MM1 Guitar Models in 2018 CATALOGUE

To kick off 2018 right, Ibanez has released their newest guitar catalogue (which you can check out here) for the new year in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, and Slovakia. The whole thing is definitely worth the read, but the good people at Ibanez have announced a couple new models that are of particular interest: the Ibanez AZ Series and MM1 Martin Miller Signature!

First off, let’s talk about the AZ series. The AZ is Ibanez’s way of catering to more current and varied styles of guitar playing, while still holding true to a classic type of design. The AZ specs include Gotoh Magnum locking machine head tuners, an AZ Oval C Shape neck, Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups, Super All Access neck joint, roasted maple 1-piece neck, and an Ibanez T1802 Synchronized bridge. What a beauty! You can all about the features of the AZ on pages 2-5 of the 2018 catalogue. Additionally, Ibanez had this to say about the AZ series:

“In launching the new AZ series, our aim is not to merely create a completely new guitar model, but to sculpt a great guitar that can foster the full potential of the modern player’s player while maintaining traditional elements.”

And secondly, the MM1 Martin Miller Signature guitar is a sight to behold. The MM1 comes loaded with Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups, a MM S-Tech maple neck, flamed maple top/African mahogany body, jumbo stainless steel frets, chrome hardware, and Luminescent side dot inlays. All this, and a beautiful Transparent Aqua Blue finish make this axe ready for shreddy. You can learn more about the MM1 on page 15 of the catalogue.

While we currently can’t confirm that these models will be available in America just yet, we presume Ibanez will keep us updated on that front as more information is released. You can check out all of Ibanez’s available guitars on their website.
