Grez Guitars is paying tribute to the 1960s Danelectro Short Horn bass with their brand new Mendocino Short Scale Bass. The Mendocino Short Scale Bass is a 30” scale instrument uses salvaged Old Growth Redwood and semi-hollow construction for a unique look and deep low end. The bass offers a Honduran Mahogany body and neck, Macassar Ebony fretboard, and Curtis Novak Lipstick pickups.
“Inspired by the vintage pieces from the 60’s, I sought to create something with a similar feel and sound, not a reproduction, but an ode to in my style'” says Luthier Barry Grzebik. “Building with old growth reclaimed Redwood originally harvested a 100 years ago helps create a voice and story that’s unique.”
