GIBSON Brings Back The Victory And I Want One

Way back in the ’80s, Gibson made a very metal superstrat-looking guitar called the Victory. Now 40-ish years later, they’re bringing it back and it still looks killer.

The Victory has a 25.5″ scale length, a Mahogany neck and an Ebony fretboard with a compound radius, Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners, a SlimTaper profile for all your shred needs, and 24 medium jumbo frets. The Mahogany body has an AA figured maple cap, a Tune-O-Matic bridge, a Stop Bar tailpiece, and comes loaded with two ’80s Tribute humbucker pickups wired to push/pull master volume and tone controls for coil splitting and inner/outer coil selection.

So why bring it back now? Easy – everyone wanted them do it. According to Gibson, the Victory “was created in response to player requests for the return of this ’80s-era cult favorite.”

The Victory comes in Iguana Burst, Wine Red Burst and Smokehouse Burst finishes. There’s also a standard, non-figured version with a Mahogany body available in Dark Walnut Satin, Gold Mist Satin and Dark Green Satin finishes. The non-figured version is available for $1,999 and the figured version goes for $2,499. Get all of ’em here.
