GetGood Drums has just launched Modern & Massive 2 – an all-new virtual instrument and the first to be launched on our native standalone platform.
Modern & Massive 2 was captured by Adam “Nolly” Getgood and sampled by drummer extraordinaire Mike Malyan at Middle Farm Studios. Modern & Massive 2 is bigger than its predecessor, with extra tom and crash positions and a larger selection of instruments: 9 snares, 7 kicks, 4 sets of toms and 21 cymbals.
Better yet, the entire selection offers differing drumhead-type, pitch and muffling options to suit each production you work on. That and Modern & Massive 2 allows users to load and blend four samples simultaneously.
Modern & Massive 2 also uses GetGood Drums’ Flow-Note technology, which is a proprietary feature of the brand’s sampler engine that realistically models the way that drums, cymbals and recording spaces react during live drum performance.
Modern & Massive 2 also features a powerful mixer with built-in studio quality effects, as well as 100+ presets created by the biggest names in rock and metal production. “Today is a truly momentous day for us at GGD,” said Getgood. “The two things that we get asked more than anything else are: when are you going to do Modern Massive 2, the sequel to the second ever product we released, which is still our biggest seller; and when are you going to do your own drum sampler plugin that doesn’t require someone else’s software to work.
“I am here to announce that we have done both of those things. We’re about to jump into Modern Massive 2, and what I hope is that by the time you’ve watched a bit of this, you’ll realize that it’s not only those two things but a whole load more as well.”
