Fender is paying tribute to the late singer, songwriter, and band leader Alvis Edgar “Buck” Owens Jr. with two brand new signature models.
First up is the Buck Owens Telecaster, based on Buck’s custom Telecaster played throughout his career and into the Hee Haw years. The Buck Owens Telecaster features an Alder body finished in signature Red, Silver, and Blue sparkle with double white binding for the iconic look of Buck’s custom Tele. The late ’50s “C”-shaped Maple neck features 7.25″ radius Maple fingerboard with 21 vintage frets, with a matching three-color sparkle finish headstock.
Equipped with custom Buck Owens Alnico 3 and Alnico 2 single-coil Tele pickups, this guitar delivers the bright, cutting tone that defined Buck’s Bakersfield country sound. Get it here for $1,999.99.
Then there’s the Buck Owens Kingman – also in Red, Silver, and Blue finish – which features a Performance X bracing pattern and dreadnought body comprised of a solid Spruce top and solid Mahogany back. An ergonomic modern “C” profile was chosen for the neck along with a 25.5″ scale length for optimal sustain, and am onboard Fishman Presys VT Plus preamp system
