Fender has rolled out version 8.1 of Fender Studio Pro, introducing a range of workflow and production updates centered around AI-assisted creation, vocal processing and stem-based editing.
The headline additions include Studio Assistan, a new in-DAW AI tool designed to answer technical questions and surface tutorials without forcing users to leave their session; alongside a new Vocal Tune plug-in for native pitch correction.

Perhaps the biggest addition is Fender’s integration with Moises Studio, bringing stem separation, vocal transformation and backing-track generation directly into the software. Fender says the collaboration marks the first time these capabilities have been integrated at this level inside a DAW.
“At Fender, we view AI the same way we view any innovation. Its value isn’t in the technology itself, but in how it helps musicians create, learn and express themselves,” said Max Gutnik, Chief Product Officer of Fender Electronics.
“Studio Assistant provides guidance right when players need it, helping remove friction and keep the creative process moving. Our integration with Moises gives musicians powerful new ways to learn songs, practice, experiment and create. AI isn’t the destination. Making music is. When technology gets out of the way and helps musicians accomplish more, it’s serving the art. That’s what we aspire to do.”
Studio Assistant enters public beta for Fender Studio Pro+ subscribers, providing natural-language access to documentation, tutorials and support resources from within the DAW.
Moises Studio Integration allows users to separate stems, generate new stems from existing recordings and apply vocal transformations without leaving the software. Fender says all 8.1 users will receive a monthly allocation of stem separations, stem generations and voice conversions at no additional cost.
The new Vocal Tune Plug-in brings built-in pitch correction to the platform, offering both transparent tuning and more aggressive vocal processing options, including formant shifting.
Elsewhere, Fender has expanded its composition and editing toolset with updates to Sound Variations, additional scoring features and new Pitch Curves on Audio Events, allowing users to draw pitch changes directly onto audio clips.
Performance improvements arrive in several key areas. Native stem separation has been optimized for faster processing and lower system impact, while Audio-to-Note conversion receives improved detection accuracy and expanded drum support.
Workflow refinements include customizable browser layouts, reorderable tabs and support for Dolby Atmos Headphone Personalization, which aims to improve monitoring accuracy when mixing immersive audio on headphones.
The update also introduces Shared Virtual Instrument Sets, enabling instruments to remain available across multiple sessions without repeatedly loading them, reducing setup time and easing system demands.
