Jim Root’s signature Telecaster has always been an outlier in Fender’s lineup – namely that it’s pretty metal. Now the Limited Edition Jim Root Telecaster has returned to us all yet again, this time with a limited Shoreline Gold finish. Other than that, it’s all the same as previous iterations.

The foundation is a solid Mahogany body, delivering the thick midrange and sustain that have become hallmarks of Root’s massive rhythm tone. Finished in high-gloss Shoreline Gold and complemented by Black hardware and a single-ply Black pickguard, the guitar balances classic Fender styling with an unmistakably modern attitude.
A Satin-finished Maple neck features a comfortable Modern “C” profile, offering a familiar feel that accommodates everything from punishing rhythm work to fast lead passages. The 25.5″ scale length helps maintain string tension for lower tunings, while the 12″-radius Ebony fingerboard and 22 Jumbo frets provide a smooth, effortless playing experience built for precision.
Electronics are what you’d expect. An EMG 81 active humbucker occupies the bridge position, delivering razor-sharp attack, tight low-end response, and exceptional clarity under high gain. At the neck, an EMG 60 adds warmth and articulation for fluid leads and surprisingly clean passages when required.
Controls are kept simple too, consisting of a single Master Volume knob and a three-way blade selector.
Then there are the electronics. A six-saddle String-Through-Body hardtail bridge maximizes sustain while providing dependable intonation, making it an ideal choice for aggressive picking and alternate tunings. Fender’s Deluxe staggered locking tuners improve tuning stability and make string changes considerably quicker.
