Fender has unveiled the Limited Edition Mark Speer Stratocaster and Limited Edition Laura Lee Jazz Bass, developed in collaboration with genre-defying band Khruangbin. This marks the first time in Fender’s history that both a signature guitar and bass for a single band are being released together, commemorating the 10th anniversary of Khruangbin’s debut album, The Universe Smiles Upon You.
“Mark and Laura had built their trademark sound with some unique specs and features on their primary instruments,” said Justin Norvell, EVP of Product at Fender. “With these signature models, we wanted to share that with the universe of musicians and fans.”

Mark Speer’s signature Stratocaster is modeled after the guitar he’s used since the band’s inception. It features an Aged Natural ash body with all-white hardware, DiMarzio Pro Track pickups for vintage-style tone, and a 70s-style middle pickup for tonal variety. A Custom “C”-shape neck and vintage-style tremolo round out a build designed for expressive, reverb-rich playing. “This guitar is the easiest way for me to get the musical idea from my head, out into the world,” said Speer.

Laura Lee’s Jazz Bass, finished in classic Vintage White, reflects her bold style and genre-blending sound. It’s equipped with DiMarzio Ultra Jazz pickups for deep lows and bright highs, vintage-style concentric knobs, and a Custom “U”-shape neck with rosewood fingerboard. “A lot of the features on my bass look vintage, but they function in a modern way,” said Lee. “It just sounds better the more you play it.”
Both the Mark Speer Stratocaster and Laura Lee Jazz Bass are available here for $1,499 each.
