FENDER and Tom Morello Revive a Revolt: The Return of the Arm the Homeless Guitar

After more than 35 years of Tom Morello wieling his “Arm the Homeless” guitar, it’s finally back in circulation for everyone who isn’t Tom (though Tom can totally buy it).

Working closely with Morello, Fender has recreated the “Arm the Homeless” guitar with remarkable authenticity, quirks and all, while pairing the release with a pledge to support organizations fighting homelessness.

The recreation starts with an Alder body drenched in Blue Ice Metallic, adorned with the provocative “Arm the Homeless” slogan and Morello’s unmistakable hand-drawn hippopotamus artwork.

The bolt-on Maple neck is painted Black, topped with a 15″-Radius Rosewood Fingerboard featuring 22 Medium Jumbo Frets, offering the smooth bend-heavy playability that defines Morello’s technique. And then there’s the custom Hockey Stick Headstock – striking in its blank, logo-less form.

At the heart of the tone are Morello’s signature active pickups: an EMG 85 in the bridge and an EMG H in the neck. Each pickup has its own dedicated Volume control, with a shared Master Tone. Morello’s trick for killswitch-style stutters remains intact: simply roll one pickup’s Volume to zero and hammer the 3-way selector.

But beyond the symbolism, the collaboration carries real-world weight. Morello and Fender have pledged donations from the project to support organizations fighting homelessness, uniting music gear with meaningful advocacy.
