Ernie Ball Music Man just rolled out their new collection of Bongo basses and is showing off two of the 5-string iterations with a dueling bass performance by The Omnific.
So what’s up with the new Bongo basses? Well for starters, they come in four brand new finishes – Stealth Black, Blood Orange, Mantis Green, and Titan Gray.
The Stealth Black and Titan Gray versions have a Maple neck with Ebony fretboard and Matte Black pickguard and hardware, while the Blood Orange version has a Maple neck with Rosewood fretboard and Black pickguard with Chrome hardware. And then there’s the Mantis Green finish, which is mostly the same as a Blood Orange version except for its Maple neck. All four basses have matching headstocks too, which is always a great look.
Outside all that, the Bongo series offers a 24-fret neck, two Ernie Ball Music Man proprietary humbucking pickups, a 4-band EQ, Neodymium magnets, and an 18V active preamp. Get one here – the 4-string goes for $2,899, the 5-string goes for $2,999, and the 6-string goes for $3,099.
