EPIPHONE’s 1961 Les Paul SG Standard Uses Gibson BurstBuckers

Epiphone has teamed up with their Gibson counterparts for the Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard. The reissue pays tribute to the original 1961 SG, which was meant to replace the Gibson Les Paul after it was deemed too heavy and old-fashioned by players at the time.

The Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard features a two-piece solid Mahogany body with Custom Shop Historic bevels, one-piece Mahogany C-shaped neck, historically inspired long pickguard, and a Graph Tech nut. The SG also comes loaded with a pair of Gibson BurstBucker humbucking pickups wired to CTS potentiometers and Mallory capacitors for a more classic tone. As far as pickup selectors and onboard controls go, the Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard is your standard fare in terms of what you’d expect from an SG.

The Epiphone 1961 Les Paul SG Standard is available for $849 in Aged Sixties Cherry and Aged Classic White.
