Danelectro is bringing back with sitar-meets-guitar, because why not? The instrument is super unique and fun as hell to play if you’ve ever had the pleasure of seeing one in the wild.
The Danelectro Big Sitar is a regular 6-string guitar, muted with a Gotoh Sitar bridge for that extra twangy sound. Then there’s the extra mini-harp drone strings, perfect for accompanying whatever you’re playing (or making noise, or plucking out a melody – you get the idea). The Danelectro Big Sitar offers a Spruce/Gardboard body, three single-coil lipstick pickups, and a bolt-on Maple neck with comfortable “C” profile and Pau Ferro fingerboard.
Check out a demo of the guitar below and grab it here for $799.
