Caparison has been low-key releasing some of the sickest and best-made guitars on the market for quite a while now. I think the first time I became aware of them was back in the day when I was religiously listening to Symphony X – Michael Romeo was repping their guitars in a big way, and I’ve followed them since then.
Anyway, this isn’t about Mr. Romeo – this is about Mattias IA Eklundh (Freak Kitchen) and the guitar just announced by Caparison. While this isn’t officially a “new” model. it IS an updated and very sick revision of Mattias’ signature 8 string Apple Horn guitar. This version features an updated charcoal black matte finish, an FU-Tone 8 string bridge, and 27 stainless steel True Temperament frets. This guitar also features DiMarzio pickups, a 27-inch scale length, a walnut and mahogany tonewood composite body, and a 5 piece maple and walnut neck. So basically, it’s the ultimate guitar for extreme modern guitar music.
