Single-pickup guitars seem to be gaining quite a bit of steam lately. Personally, I love ’em – I’ve got my LTD Phoenix-201 right next to my desk. Jackson is getting in on the single-pickup supremacy as well with their new Pro Plus Series Pure Metal and I think I can hear my bank account crying somewhere in the distance.
The Pro Plus Series Pure Metal offers up three classic Jackson body shapes – the Kelly, the Soloist, and the Rhoads. All three models feature a Creme-bound Poplar body with Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo, single Volume control, and Fishman Fluence Modern ceramic bridge humbucking pickup.
The Pro Plus Series Pure Metal offers up a neck-through-body construction with a 3-piece Maple neck, Ebony fretboard with a 12″ to 16″ compound radius and Pearloid Sharkfin inlays, and 24 frets. The Pro Plus Series Pure Metal also has a pointed Jackson 6-in-line headstock with a locking nut.
“Introducing the Limited Edition Jackson Pro Plus Pure Metal Series, a bold new lineup of aggressive Jackson designs,” wrote Jackson of the new models.
“Available in the Soloist SL1A, Kelly KE1A, and Rhoads RR1A. Featuring 24 jumbo stainless steel frets for ultra-smooth playability, a Floyd Rose 1000 Series double-locking tremolo, and a powerful Fishman Fluence Modern bridge humbucker that delivers everything from articulate cleans to face-melting distortion.”
The Soloist goes for $1,299.99, the Kelly for $1,399.99, and the Rhoads for $1,499.99. Get all three here.
