BOSS x JHS Pedals Paired Two of Their Favorite Overdrives and Squashed ‘Em into a Single Enclosure

Boss JHS JB-2

40th birthdays can sometimes cue in the midlife crises, and this year Boss is celebrating their iconic compact pedal series’s big 4-0. In what’s admittedly an interesting b-day move is the giant’s collaboration with JHS Pedals on what they’ve coined the JB-2 Angry Driver. An astute pedal geek could probably surmise that the Angry Driver is indeed an amalgam of both the Boss BD-2 Blues Driver and the JHS Angry Charlie.

What’s more is that the Angry Driver can run either circuit separately, depending on your mood, or in tandem for what I’m assuming is a wild ride down to Overdrive City. Says JHS founder Josh Scott,

[The Angry Charlie] stacks amazingly with the Blues Driver, that pedal obviously being the low-gain side and carrying everything from boost to overdrive, and the Angry Charlie carrying that medium-high overdrive all the way to distortion.

But do you dig it, Mr. JHS?

I am 150-percent satisfied. I love it.

Well there you have it. If it seems odd, that’s because it is. But hey, if it sounds good, it is good. And if you’re willing to find out, head here.
