Boss has recreated the legendary Roland RE-201 Space Echo in two brand-new pedals.
First up is the RE-202. The RE-202 is a faithful-to-the-original recreation of the RE-201 that delivers the authentic sound and behavior of the Space Echo. The RE-201 brings magnetic tape and motor properties to its sound for that vintage feel while offering vibrant spring reverb and a colorful preamp circuit. The RE-202 also offers a three-head configuration plus an additional tape head for 12 unique echo combinations, and the ability to save and select 127 memories via external MIDI program change.

Then there’s the compact RE-2. The RE-2 is a more pedalboard-friendly footprint—realized version featuring the original three-head configuration and 11 different sound combinations, vintage RE-201 spring reverb sound with a modern stereo operation, and expandable control via external footswitches or an expression pedal.
