Beetronics FX has a reputation for pushing pedal design into uncharted sonic territory, and their latest creation, the BeeBeeDee Analog Delay, is no exception. Built on a fully analog signal path, the BeeBeeDee serves up lush, tape-inspired repeats alongside gritty lo-fi textures and unpredictable pitch-shifted chaos, giving players a buffet of delay flavors in a single stompbox.
At its core are three distinct delay modes. Classic mode brings warm, bucket-brigade delay tones up to 600ms, complete with smooth sine-wave modulation for lush, swirling repeats. Lo-Fi mode dives into tape-machine territory, adding darker grit and warble for unpredictable, vintage-inspired atmospheres.
Pitch mode is where things get wild, transforming repeats into harmonized, glitchy patterns with square-wave modulation that pushes delays into surreal, ear-twisting soundscapes. Depth and Activity knobs let players sculpt each mode from subtle support to full-blown sonic experiments.
But what makes the BeeBeeDee especially exciting for players is its set of performance-driven features. A dedicated Performance Footswitch toggles between three options: Tap Tempo for syncing repeats in real time, 2x mode for instant doubled delay speed (and octave-jumping tricks), and Mod for lush, wobbling textures. Hold the switch, and it also unleashes a Momentary Feedback function – perfect for controlled bursts of chaos without ever taking your hands off the guitar.
Add in a Tone control with lowpass and highpass shaping, plus a simple Mix knob for dialing in just the right wet/dry balance, and you’ve got a delay pedal that feels both intuitive and boundlessly creative.
