Abasi Stage 7
For decades, nylon-string guitars have occupied a largely traditional corner of the guitar world — beloved for their warmth and expressiveness, but often resistant to the demands of high-volume stages, modern technique, and extended-range exploration. The Abasi Stage 7 sets out to change that narrative entirely.
Designed in collaboration with Abasi Concepts and built on Córdoba’s proven Stage solidbody platform, the Abasi Stage 7 is not a classical guitar adapted for stage use. Instead, it is a ground-up redesign of what a nylon-string instrument can be when engineered specifically for electrified performance and modern electric players.
At the heart of the Stage 7 is a Thin, Extensively Chambered Mahogany body, reinforced with Custom Internal Bracing. This construction preserves the organic response and dynamic nuance associated with nylon strings while dramatically reducing feedback at higher volumes. The result is an instrument that feels alive and resonant, yet remains stable and controllable in demanding live environments.
The guitar’s sculpted Larada contours and reduced body depth further emphasize comfort and balance. Whether seated or standing, the Stage 7 maintains a natural playing position that will feel instantly familiar to electric guitarists.
What truly sets the Abasi Stage 7 apart in the nylon-string world is its 7-String Multiscale design, tuned B to E. With full 24-fret access, the instrument delivers piano-like low-end depth alongside articulate, singing highs.
Narrower string spacing reinforces this electric-first philosophy, allowing players to transition instinctively without re-learning hand mechanics or altering established technique. For extended-range players, the Stage 7 feels less like a crossover instrument and more like a natural evolution.
Electronics are handled by a Custom Stage Pickup System co-developed with Fishman. This system blends an Under-Saddle Transducer with Internal Body Sensors, producing a balanced, natural amplified tone free from the brittle artifacts often associated with piezo systems.
