Kemper is back with their brand new, highly-anticipated PROFILER MK 2 Series. The MK 2 is available as Head, Rack, Stage, Player, and Powered units with a faster processor, significantly more effects, and a reimagined profiling engine that promises one of the most detailed amp recreations ever achieved.
At the core of the MK 2 Series is a newly upgraded processing engine, boasting boot times around 20 seconds and delivering snappier UI performance across the board. Whether you’re flipping through profiles or loading up a new rig in Performance Mode, everything now just feels quicker.
One of the biggest changes users will notice right away is the expanded effects section. Kemper has added seven new effect blocks, bringing the total up to 20 — all running with zero additional latency. The new FX slots include a second noise gate, compressor, pure booster, wah, vintage chorus, air chorus, and double tracker. Pair those with legacy staple effects and you’re looking at what amounts to an entire pedalboard.
Kemper is also teasing a next-generation profiling technology currently in testing with select third-party profile makers. Set for release this summer, it includes:
- 100,000+ frequency points analyzed per profile for unrivaled accuracy
- Dynamic cabinet resonance with ultra-long IRs
- Liquid Profiling that integrates real amp controls like gain and EQ
- A hybrid modeling/profiling engine combining analog measurements with Kemper’s signature tech
For all guitarists and bassists already rocking the compact PROFILER Player, there is good news: it’s been “MK 2”-ready from day one, meaning it’s fully aligned with the power and potential of the new series. Now on LVL 1 already, it features 16 simultaneous FX in total. This new extended signal flow becomes available for all Player owners as a free update, and yes, it will get Profiling.
