It seems like there are a whole bunch of companies competing to be the first to deliver a quality motorized microphone movement unit to market (without breaking the bank). Dynamount has the name recognition right now, but there are a whole bunch of other players, including the folks at Mo Mic.
I got to chat with them at NAMM and get a look at their unit, which is pretty cool. Though I think in general these systems cost too much money and ultimately cause more problems than they solve, it’s cool to see people working on them, and I hope they find the right formula to make it affordable to audio guys (who have enough budget problems when it comes to buying new equipment).
