T I L E S and MIKE STERN Get Spooky in “The Disappearing Floor”

T I L E S have been around since the early 90s and have made some pretty sick prog rock along the way. In commemoration of the 1-year anniversary of their 2016 album Pretending 2 Run, these guys just put out their first major conceptual music video for the song “The Disappearing Floor”, featuring a lengthy solo from legendary fusion guitarist Mike Stern. The video was filmed in a historic industrial park in downtown Detroit, which totally adds to the spooky vibes they were going for.

About their latest record Pretending 2 Run, it has been described as the band’s most ambitious album to date. Being just under 100 minutes of material, the album pushed the band to their musical boundaries. The album features tons of sweet cameos, most notably from Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Mike Portnoy (Dream Theater), Adam Holzman (Steven Wilson Band), and Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree), among many others. Definitely a magnum opus if we’ve ever seen one.

If that weren’t enough, you can check out a five-part documentary from the band on the making of their latest album here. For tour dates and the latest on T I L E S, be sure to hit up their website and Facebook.
