MONUMENTS – CreativeLive’s Metal Recording Bootcamp Interview

I stopped by during the tracking stage of CreativeLive’s upcoming Recording Metal Bootcamp with Eyal Levi and talked to Olly Steele and Adam Swan of Monuments, who are at the center of the action for this class. They talked about the gear they’re currently using both for the class and on the road, and the progress on the new Monuments album.

The class will take place every weekday for a full month, and examines the entire process of recording, editing, mixing, and mastering one Monuments song start to finish. It will be a combination of pre-recorded and live footage, and can be watched for free while it streams daily. To purchase the class for consumption at any time, it’s only $129 and includes bonus downloads.

If you are a student of recording, or even just someone wanting to understand how the big boys do it, this class is invaluable. Simply put, it’s the most complete course on metal production to date, helmed by Eyal who I personally think is one of the best in the business.

Having been there in person and seen what has gone into making this class, I think I can safely say this might be the best recording class for metal available. They did not compromise any part of the process and spent hours making sure everything was right, even for me there were some eye opening moments with Eyal’s process.
