I can’t believe it, but I’m so excited for the new Metallica album. The two new songs they’ve released so far are great – their best work maybe since 1991 – and the band themselves seem to be just slaying their live shows these days.
So these “making of” videos that the band have been releasing are super fun to watch. And their new one for “Moth Into Flame” is tremendous, really giving you a sense of how their writing process works these days. Which, despite the big committee of engineers, cameramen, and hangars-on, is still basically James and Lars arguing about questions like “should this riff have a ‘duh duh’ or a ‘duh-duh duh duh.'”
