Drummers for Monuments, Dillinger Escape Plan, Protest the Hero, Make a Hell of a Chain

Now this is cool. Drummer Aric Improta of post-punk band Night Verses gathered up eight of the top modern metal and punk drummers to contribute to a project in which they each wrote 18 bars of drumming, at 140 beats per minute, with fill tags attached to the end of them. Aric then arranged those pieces, and shipped the complete piece over to the other members of Night Verses to write a song around it.

What’s interesting about this is that Aric asked all of these drummers not to be too flashy, but to try and think about a song (which didn’t exist while they were recording). Watching these great drummers improv around an imaginary song is pretty cool. Check out the list of guys and the actual product below:
