GREATEST VIDEO OF ALL TIME – Drummer in Cutesy Costume Crushes Power Metal Song at Local Fair

Move along, nothing to see here. Just some rosy cheeked, strawberry shaped, giant-costume-plushy monster absolutely annihilating on the drums. You know, another average Tuesday in Japan.

But really though, wut is happening here? And holy shit is this guy shredding.

The song that communist-furby is playing here is called Kurenai, by Japanese glam/power metal band X-Japan. Some fans in the comments section have even speculated that the guy in the costume is actually the band’s drummer and bandleader, Yoshiki. X-Japan is freakin’ Beatles-huge over there, so maybe it is really Yoshiki, having some fun while attempting to avoid being accosted by fans.

Still, I like to think that it’s not actually a costume at all. Rather, for several months leading up to the festival, a mysterious creature was practicing skank-beats and single stroke rolls in a dense thicket behind the local township.

But I don’t speak Japanish and ‘Facebook Translate’ isn’t very helpful in assisting my understanding of exactly wtf is going on here. So, I guess we’ll never know.
