Guitarist and songwriter Emily Wolfe recently popped into the Musora studio to do what she thought was the Covers challenge, but the Musora folks had other plans.
Musora instead challenged Wolfe with transforming Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes” into a Black Sabbath and song and she absolutely crushed it! This sounds like if Black Sabbath’s Heaven And Hell record was written and recorded during the Paranoid sessions. It’s awesome.
I should also add that Wolfe only met the other two musicians in her trio that very day. So yeah – this is impressive.
On the cover, Musora stated: “The queen of tone, Emily Wolfe, arrived at Musora Studios expecting to do the Covers challenge… but we threw a curve ball at her! Tasked with transforming Billie Eilish’s “Ocean Eyes” into her own style, Emily had to take things a step further when a surprise twist forced her to channel one of her biggest tone influences: Black Sabbath.
“Watch as she dives into guitar tone, builds a vintage-inspired rig from scratch, and collaborates with a brand-new rhythm section to turn a pop ballad into a Tony Iommi-inspired track. If you love creative songwriting, guitar tone, and seeing great musicians pushed outside their comfort zones, this is a Covers episode you won’t want to miss!”
