Good Time is batshit crazy. Two brothers – one, mentally handicapped – knock off a bank. One of them ends up in Riker’s. The other, played by Robert Pattinson, goes through a hellish night of acid-filled Sprite bottles, crooked bail bondsmen, dog masturbation, and the most insane small-time-crook flashback sequence you’ve ever seen.
And it’s all set to hard beats courtesy Oneohtrix Point Never, the iconic noise/electronic producer who you may have heard of for his metal scene cred. If you’re a fan of any of the metal/punk affiliated electronic acts – Squarepusher, Aphex, NIN, etc, then you should give Oneohtrix a spin, and Good Time is a perfect introduction to his progressive, jazz-fusion-y, abrasive insanity.
Oh, and he even got Iggy Pop to do vocals on a track, “The Pure and the Damned.” Go see this movie – trust me, you will not be disappointed. It’s the most fun, funny, ludicrous thing I’ve seen all year. The soundtrack is out now via Warp Records.
