Mick Gordon, Matt Halpern, Sasha Dikicyan Rip DOOM Soundtrack Live

I don’t play games, so had no idea that this game DOOM had a djent/NIN-core soundtrack. Or that by every metric the soundtrack was a hit – #1 on iTunes’ soundtrack charts, awards, etc.

For one of those awards ceremonies, composer Mick Gordon put together a live band to perform the soundtrack, including Matt Halpern from Periphery and Sasha Dikicyan from Sonic Mayhem. Pretty cool stuff, and I wish that more video game composers would perform their soundtracks live in general.

  • Can’t hear shit. The crowd is louder than the music.

    • Considering that this is a video-games awards show, I’d say they’ve reacted to them pretty well.

      • I wasn’t criticizing the crowd, I was criticizing the volume of the crowd versus the volume of the music.
