PUPPY Bassist WILL MICHAEL Discusses Gear, Tones, Riffs, And More!

Getting ready to make contact with the US for the very first time ever before heading to SXSW shortly after, UK-based heavy metal act Puppy are about to show North America what they’re made of for the very first time. The 3-piece (consisting of drummer Billy Howard, bassist Will Michael, and guitarist Jock Norton) recently released their debut album The Goat on January 25th via Spinefarm Records, and in celebration of the new tunes, bassist Will Michael is here to talk shop, riffs, and everything in between!

In this Q&A-style video, Michael goes through his collection of favorite bass sounds, favorite Puppy riffs to play, and his general setup as far as gear is concerned. We’re all about gear here (if that weren’t obvious), so these rundowns are always welcome in any capacity! He sports a collection of more vintage-sounding gear, like his Rickenbacker bass and Orange amp, and the whole aesthetic ties everything together quite nicely.
