Exclusive: Wthin the Studio with Within the Ruins

Wthin the Ruins are rapidly approaching an imminent state of album completion. The band has already tracked the majority of the instruments themselves, led by guitarist Joe Cocchi. But between those sessions and the mixing process with Jason Suecof, there was still the matter of tracking the vocals.

For that stage in the process Within the Ruins headed to Joshua Wickman’s Dreadcore Productions in White Lake, MI. Is that this Telefunken AK47 that I see vocalist Tim Goergen doing his thing into? Well, that’s definitely a Mesa/Boogie Mark V and Peavey 6505 for the reamping session.

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
