How to Mic an Acoustic Guitar (With Warren Huart!)

Even though we here at Gear Gods are primarily concerned with ways of helping you ROCK and simultaneously ROLL, there comes a time in many musicians’ lives where you gotta switch things up and record an acoustic guitar for a change. Yeah, it might not be as metal as your traditional electric guitfiddle, but it can be used to acheive a multitude of effects in most heavy songs, and it’s a skill that most musicians should have under their belt. So to help us understand the proper ways of going about it, Produce Like a Pro‘s own Warren Huart sat down with Trey to talk about everything regarding how to mic an acoustic guitar! The duo chat about which mics to use, proper placement, and what different things to experiment with to acheive your desired sound. It might seem simple, but really nailing an acoustic guitar recording can make a huge difference in your song. At the very least, the guys have a blast doing so, so sit back, relax, and try and see if you can’t learn something!
