OLA ENGLUND Pays Tribute to Dimebag With “Drag The Waters” Solo (In 4k)

It still strikes me how one dude can have such a lasting impact on a whole genre of music. His impossible skill and endlessly positive attitude combined with an untimely and senseless death have made him the unofficial patron saint of metal, and the honor is not unwarranted. The myriad of Pantera tribute bands and tattoos on metalheads everywhere is a lasting impression of how he touched the world.

Ola Englund is one who did not escape the touch of the Dime, and was also infected by his greatness. Today he showed his Pantera influence by recording this dead-on cover of the “Drag the Waters” solo.

If you have need for more expertly covered Pantera, check out Wes Hauch’s Dimebucker demo, recorded by Keith Merrow.

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
