Australia Week – Rigged – HOLLOW WORLD

Melbourne’s Hollow World are one of the more vicious bands we’ll be covering for Australia Week, with a searing death metal/deathcore attack that is all take-no-prisoners all the time. The band is relatively new, having formed in 2012, and have released one EP and two singles which are available on their Bandcamp page.

They were kind enough to shoot a gear feature for us, detailing their rigs for live and studio performance. Something that struck me about this was that I find today a lot of bands don’t have two guitarists who use the same amps. I think people want to exert their identity, even in a collective group setting where everyone is working towards a common goal. But in Hollow World, it’s Mesa Dual Rectifiers for all!

Look at that – one of them plays an Ormsby – check out our interview with Perry Ormsby as part of Australia Week, only on Gear Gods! /plug

Be sure to check back all week, as we will have more features with Hollow World for your viewing pleasure!

As Editor-in-Chief of Gear Gods, I've been feeding your sick instrument fetishism and trying unsuccessfully to hide my own since 2013. I studied music on both coasts (Berklee and SSU) and now I'm just trying to put my degree to some use. That's a music degree, not an English one. I'm sure you noticed.
