Exclusive Playthrough: “Linger” by Capsize Guitarist Ryan Knowles

I’m assuming most of us have a medium cap size. It covers every radius from 22 to 23 and a quarter inches, and that may not sound like a lot bit it’s a range that many of us fall in. Plus once you take “stretch fit” sizes into account? Forgetaboutit. Just get a medium.

But the playing from Capsize guitarist Ryan Knowles? Far beyond “medium,” into the realms of “xx-large.” Here he is performing “Linger” from his band’s new record The Angst in My Veins. Why all the angst, buddy? Is your hat too tight? Maybe he’s just one of those dudes who will never be satisfied until his guitar mastery reaches Carlton Fisk levels of excellence. Or I guess you could mentally substitute a guitar player for a catcher in that analogy if you’re not the baseballing type.

The Angst in My Veins is out now, and you can catch Capsize on the road at these European and American tour stops:

Chris Alfano has written about music and toured in bands since print magazines and mp3.com were popular. Once in high-school he hacked a friend's QBasic stick figure fighting game to add a chiptune metal soundtrack. Random attractive people still give him high-fives about that.
